Youth Council Leadership
I still remember the first time I got involved with the Show Me Your Heart (SMYH) Foundation. Back then, I had no idea how much this organization would shape who I am today. What started as something small—helping out at events, meeting new people—slowly turned into a place where I found community, purpose, and real growth.
I’ve watched how SMYH turns a group of regular students into confident, compassionate leaders. It teaches you things you don’t pick up in a classroom—how to listen, how to lead, and how to take responsibility not just for yourself, but for the people around you. Some of my closest friendships and most meaningful lessons have come from working side by side with people who care just as much about giving back.
Now, stepping into the role of President of the Youth Council, I carry all those experiences with me. My goal isn’t just to organize events or keep things running—it’s to make sure every member feels the same sense of growth and purpose that I’ve felt. SMYH has shaped so much of who I am, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward, learning, and making an impact with people who inspire me every day.
Joining the Show Me Your Heart Foundation has been a transformative experience that has shaped my confidence and leadership in ways I never imagined. SMYH has shown me that true leadership isn’t defined by age, titles, or experience, but by the willingness to step up and inspire change. It’s about the positive impact you can have on others, regardless of where you are in life. The foundation has provided a community where I’ve felt supported and empowered. The inspiring figures I’ve met, along with the guidance of peers, have helped me find my voice. Through SMYH, I’ve seen how creativity can uplift and heal, teaching me the value of serving others and the profound impact we can have when we come together for a greater cause.
Being part of this foundation has given me the tools to lead with empathy, integrity, and purpose. I’m proud to be a member of the SMYH Youth Council and excited to continue my journey of growth, knowing the work we do makes a difference. SMYH has given hardworking students, like me, the chance to become leaders who will inspire others. Thank you for the honor of serving as president of the Show Me Your Heart Youth Council.
Being a member of the Show Me Your Heart Foundation has been a wonderful experience that has changed me as a leader and as a person. From the very beginning, I was surrounded by passionate individuals who used music and art to connect with communities and make a real impact. Witnessing their commitment and the actual difference we were creating motivated me to do more and play a more active role in the Youth Council.
Now, as Vice President, I’m truly honored to continue this mission. SMYH has taught me that leadership isn’t about being in the spotlight; it’s about uplifting others, listening, and creating opportunities for meaningful change. It has strengthened my confidence in myself and in the power of a team working toward a shared goal. Every event we organize, every community we support, and every performance that spreads joy reminds me that SMYH is more than just an organization. It is one big family and a force for good.
I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and collaborating with my fellow council members to expand our reach and make an even greater impact. I’m incredibly grateful for the lessons SMYH has taught me and for the opportunity to serve in a role that allows me to contribute to something so meaningful.
Leaders are not born, but made. The Show Me Your Heart Foundation leads with this principle, providing the resources and guidance for young students like myself to discover the “leaders” inside each of us. Show Me Your Heart is special in that it sees young people not just as students but as individuals who are capable of making an incredible impact in their communities. Event after another, I have been encouraged to take risks and become more comfortable with the unfamiliar and new. Being in these rooms with people from diverse backgrounds, I have been able to form lasting relationships and develop skills both tangible and intangible. More importantly, Show Me Your Heart has given me the opportunity to realize that while public speaking and networking skills are useful, true charismatic leadership starts with having the heart of a leader on the inside. I’d like to think I have become a more compassionate person—someone who has learned the value of humility, kindness, and gratitude—through the experiences I have been given the opportunity to have. I hope to continue this incredibly rewarding journey as a member, sharing the values that have shaped me and discovering the many lessons I still have to learn about what it means to be a leader.
