Council Members
I have been a part of the Show Me Your Heart (SMYH) foundation unofficially and officially for almost a decade at this point and it is an honor to be the president of the youth council. I can still remember the confidence past leaders would have when in front of some of the most powerful people in New Jersey. I could never have imagined that many of those who were speaking in front of these powerful figures started just like me. But this is what SMYH is all about. The SMYH foundation takes smart and hardworking people and transforms them into leaders by instilling them with confidence and lessons about humanity and humility. The youth council is the result of this with every member learning how to be leaders in their own rights, own ways, and own communities. I can remember the days where my mother would force me to come with her but those days are distant now as SMYH is more than just a chore to me now. It is the next stepping stone in the grand game we all play called life. Without SMYH, I would have never had as many opportunities to meet the leaders of today. Those Luncheons with Leaders showed me how to control my future and the lessons I learned are going to help me become one of the leaders of tomorrow. Thank you SMYH for helping me become the next generation of leaders.
Being the president of the Show Me Your Heart (SMYH) Foundation has been an incredibly rewarding journey, teaching me not just about leadership but also about life in various ways. SMYH is more than just a foundation; it's about understanding the importance of helping others and fostering a strong sense of community, a fundamental message that has remained within this organization.
As I developed into this role, I appreciate the opportunity to gather valuable insights from fellow members as well as those who preceded me in leadership. In our foundation, there are inspiring leaders whom I consider my role models, each contributing to teaching both me and our members about the essence of being true leaders in our world today.
I am excited about the opportunity to learn and advance through these responsibilities, recognizing that each event presents a chance for personal development. The Show Me Your Heart Foundation comprises a passionate group of people collaborating towards a common goal. I feel honored to play a part in the impactful work we engage in, as being a member of this positive and dedicated community brings me great joy.
Being part of the Show Me Your Heart (SMYH) Foundation since my freshman year has been rewarding. SMYH has given me the chance to contribute to my community and connect with dedicated young leaders. Through this journey, I've formed lasting friendships and seamlessly blended my love for music with a commitment to service. Serving on the SMYH Youth Council has been transformative, allowing me to witness the impact our foundation has on the community. The dedication of fellow Youth Council members is commendable, and I'm honored to be part of an organization committed to serving the community. Assuming the role of Youth Council Vice president after a little over a year with SMYH is a profound honor. SMYH takes intelligent, hardworking individuals and molds them into leaders with confidence, humanity, and humility. The Youth Council exemplifies this, with each member becoming leaders in their unique ways. SMYH has become a crucial stepping stone in many lives, shaping identities and providing invaluable opportunities. I'm grateful to SMYH for guiding me toward becoming a leader of tomorrow.
One invaluable lesson that the Show Me Your Heart Foundation has taught me is confidence. Whether it be through the moving speeches of influential figures, or through the constant support from peers within the community, the SMYH Foundation has played an indispensable role in fostering my own confidence. SMYH has taught me how to better articulate myself, how to treat others with respect and, most importantly, that I had the capacity to become a leader. This simple, yet impactful realization that I could actually become a leader, and that I did not have to wait until I was much older to start, is a message that I am truly grateful to SMYH for instilling in me. I am also thankful to the diligent and supportive members of the SMYH foundation, whom I have gotten to know better since my joining the foundation in my freshmen year. I have witnessed firsthand the efforts of the SMYH community to serve underprivileged groups and share positivity with others through music and art, and I believe that these members are the heart of the foundation. Ultimately, I am proud to be a member of the SMYH Youth Council and am thankful for being able to be a part of its cause.
The Show Me Your Heart Foundation has been an invaluable opportunity for me to give back to my community and connect with other passionate young leaders. Since I joined SMYH in freshman year, I have met new friends and made connections that will last a lifetime. I have been able to share my love for music and service with the people around me and organize meaningful efforts to support causes that are important to me. As part of the SMYH Youth Council, I have been able to listen to inspiring stories and see with my own eyes the impact SMYH has on the community. I am constantly wowed by my fellow SMYH member’s commitment to growing as people and as community leaders. Overall, I am honored to be a part of an organization that is so committed to doing good and am grateful for everything SMYH has allowed me to do.
